Powder coatings' introduction overview

Powder coatings are in a completely different form from general coatings and exist in the form of fine powders. Due to the absence of solvents, it is called Powder Coating. The main characteristics of powder coatings are: harmless, efficient, resource saving, and environmentally friendly.
It has two main categories: thermoplastic powder coatings and thermosetting powder coatings.
Thermoplastic powder coatings are composed of components such as thermoplastic resins, pigments, fillers, plasticizers, and stabilizers. Thermoplastic powder coatings include: polyethylene, polypropylene, polyester, polyvinyl chloride, chlorinated polyether, polyamide series, cellulose series, polyester series, etc.
Thermosetting powder coatings are composed of thermosetting resins, curing agents, pigments, fillers, and additives. Thermosetting powder coatings include epoxy resin series, epoxy polyester series, polyester series, polyurethane series, acrylic resin series, etc.
Disadvantages: uneven powder on edges and corners, difficulty in covering coating defects after curing, and high curing conditions.

There are many classification standards for powder coatings, and the names of various powders in the market are uneven. According to the properties of film-forming substances, they are divided into two categories: thermoplastic powder coatings and thermosetting powder coatings. Alternatively, based on the appearance of the film-forming material, it can be divided into extinction type, highlight type, art type, etc. It can also be divided into two categories based on the usage environment: indoor and outdoor
